Thanks to Orbit Design in Denver, CO for these great tips for what not to put on your business card.
First, don't put anything on your business card that people will find confusing. For example, if your company uses an official name for tax purposes, but a more common DBA name that customers will recognize, use the one that will be most recognized.
Second, fax number. Hardly anyone is using the fax machine any more, so no sense in wasting space with a fax number. Better to put your facebook link than a fax number.
Third, don't list multiple websites. Send people to your main website, or use a different business card if you have a secondary website that has a smaller, more targeted audience.
Fourth, don't list a long mission statement. Most mission statements are gobbledy gook anyway. Better to use a snappy, to-the-point tagline that lets people know exactly what you do.
Last, don't use a photo of yourself unless you're an actor or someone whose glamorshot will make or break whether or not you get hired. For most business people, the glamorshot approach doesn't look enough like you in an everyday setting to seem real, and pictures are only as good as the last time you changed your hairstyle. There's better ways to use the real estate on your business card than a photo.
